Prayer Letter
Prayer Letter
Dear Beloved Friends and Family,

We greet you with a thankful hearts this month. May has been a busy
month and June will be more of the same.

May began with four Senior Adult Rallies in four different West Texas
towns as we worked with the
Bi-Fork Baptist Area. We had the joy of sharing ministry with Shiloh, a
gospel trio from the Metroplex. It was a great experience.

We had the joy of joining our son Steve and his family for Rachel's
graduation from Howard Payne University. It was a wonderful time of
celebration. Now she is prayerfully seeking a job as a teacher of
kindergarten children. God has given to her a love for such children.

I also had the joy of preaching at FBC, Plains on Mother's Day. This
good congregation is still grieving over the loss of their pastor, Bill
Wright, to cancer a couple of months ago. Then I filled in for our son
David at FBC, Canyon while he preached before the FBC, El Paso in
view of a call. We have developed a real affection for the Canyon church
over the nine years that David has served them. He and Robyn are
accepting a real challenge as they move to El Paso. This city feels the
pain of the people along the Mexican Border. FBC, El Paso is a
launching base for many expressions of ministry. Our son needs your
prayers as he follows the leadership of the Lord. El Paso needs to see
what the Lord of the harvest can do as He works through a church.

We leave this week for Europe. We will enjoy a week of vacation in
Switzerland and Austria, in Lucerne and Vienna. Then we will move to
Romania for almost a month of preaching, teaching, and ministry. Since
if celebrated by 75 th birthday on the l8th of May, this will probably be
our last such venture. The Lord has been good to open this door for us
in retirement. Our friends at Upreach International have made so much
of it possible with their financial support, and we are thankful to God for
them. Other friends have come forth with some special gifts that we will
carry with us on this trip. Thanks to everyone who has made a financial
or prayer contribution to this work.

Thanks for praying for my Mother. As I write this, she is improving after
two hospitals stays this month. Health is such a precious gift from the
Lord, and He is the one who sustains it.

We will count on the cover of your prayers in this month of June. You are
special to the Lord and to us.

Blessings!

D. L. and Alice
